For 25 years, our mission has been simple: provide free, compassionate healthcare to anyone in our community who needed it. We have weathered countless challenges, but this year brought a combination we could not overcome. The grant funding that has sustained us for years, is no longer available, community demand and donations steadily declined, and we do not have the financial capacity to keep the clinic operating.
Our Board of Directors has spent months exploring every possible path forward but after exhausting every option, we reached the difficult but necessary decision to close.
We know this clinic has been a lifeline for many. We share in the sadness, disappointment, and worry this news may bring.
Please know this may not be a permanent goodbye. The Board remains committed to monitoring community demand, funding opportunities, and volunteer provider availability. If the climate shifts and the resources return, we will eagerly reopen and continue the work we care so deeply about.
To everyone who has supported Open Door, patients, volunteers, staff, donors, and partners—thank you. You helped create a place where kindness came first and healthcare had no price tag. That legacy doesn’t end here.
If the future gives us another chance, we’ll be ready.
